Hey Hey Ho Ho the Bowfin Record was broken in 2008. The previous record was 10lbs 15ozs. The record now is 11-4 and was caught out of the St. Criox River in Washington County on October 7th.

Just caught a 31 inch bowfin on Island Lake in MN on Friday! Didn't weight it but it was huge!
You could be the Grand Champion this year if you caught it on artificial baits and let her go. But I need your name pronto.
I caught a huge bowfin on an artificial bait and it was released. But I could not get an accurate measurement (walleye boat, only measurement tool went to 22 inches. if I posted a pic could you give me a guess on size and weight? obviously nothing accurate, but I am curious!
